Fundraise for The Recovery Course

Fundraising is a rewarding way for you to get involved and support us and you’ll be making a big difference to the lives of those who are battling with addiction. You will be helping them to find hope, and freedom from addiction and rebuild their lives. Whatever you choose for your fundraiser, you will be raising funds to help us provide training, support, resources, and practical help to churches so The Recovery Course can be run in communities across the UK, helping people find freedom from addiction.

Choose how you would like to fundraise 

It’s easy to set up an online fundraising page so that people can donate to The Recovery Course. Below are a few options and links where you will find some easy-to-follow instructions to get you up and running!

  • JustGiving: To set up a JustGiving page, go to justgiving.com/start-fundraising create an account and select The Recovery Course as your chosen charity.

  • Facebook: If you have a Facebook page, go to ​www.facebook.com/fundraisers to get started and search for The Recovery Course to start your fundraising.

  • Instagram: You can create a fundraiser on Instagram. Visit the Instagram help page to find out how set up your fundraiser here. You will easily be able to search for The Recovery Course as your chosen charity.

You don’t have to worry about collecting and sending the money – all these platforms will take care of it all for you.

How to promote your fundraiser

  • Word of mouth: Don't underestimate the power of word of mouth – it's the ultimate marketing tool. Tell your family, friends, and colleagues about your fundraising and ask them to spread the word.

  • Promote the cause: If people know the inspiration behind your fundraising and the difference their donation makes, they'll be much more likely to support you.

  • Use social media: Social networking sites such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter are brilliant tools when it comes to promoting a fundraising event. Choose your platform and go for it!

  • A picture says a thousand words: Use photos throughout your fundraiser to personalise your event, give updates and attract more attention. Make sure someone is lined up to take photos, or take selfies, this will be a big help when it comes to collecting donations. 

  • Use your local media: Contact your local paper explaining what you're up to. You can also contact your local radio stations to push for a plug on air and if you're feeling really ambitious, why not approach your local TV news teams to see if they'll cover your story?
