Session 2 – Out of Control?

Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over our addiction - that our lives had become unmanageable

In Session 2, we explore the first step on the journey of recovery: admitting that our addiction, compulsive behaviour, or unhealthy coping mechanism has become unmanageable. This session examines the powerful role that denial plays in keeping us trapped and preventing us from facing the truth about ourselves and our circumstances. Through biblical teaching, personal reflection, and the experiences of others, we discover that freedom begins when we step out of the darkness of secrecy and self-deception into the light of honesty. As we acknowledge our powerlessness, we open the door to hope, healing, and lasting transformation through God's grace.
